Yesterday, Tim and I went out to do some grocery shopping and we found dragon fruit! I was just so fascinated by it, we decided to get one to see what it tastes like. Let me tell you, they're absolutely delicious! And beautiful!
Anyway, I was so inspired I decided to do a dragon fruit manicure! I started with two coats of Essie-Marshmallow (a white jelly), then added some black seed-like dots with my dotting tool. On top of that, I added another coat of Marshmallow, to give it the look of the seeds scattered around in the fruit. Lastly, I added two coats of OPI-Guy Meets Gal-Veston (a pink/coral jelly) on the tips.

I think if I do this again, I'll make the seeds much smaller and maybe layer a few of them on top of the white, to give it more of a scattered look.
Also! I think I'm going to do a whole series of fruit-inspired manis. I associate fruit with summer and sunshine. What better way to welcome summer with lots of "fruit" on my nails?! :D
Dragonfruit is really tasty <3 and yes fruit mani for summer sounds like a very good idea <3
ReplyDeleteYeah, I was surprised at how tasty it was! I want to eat it more often! Thanks! :D I can't wait to do some more.
