The Legend of Glitter

Do you ever find something you had completely forgotten about and think "Whaa? How did I not remember this?!?" Yeah. I do that a lot. Most recently, I did that with some photos I took of a manicure I did a few weeks ago using one of my new Lucky 13 Lacquers. This one is called "Zelda" and it's from the "Hylian Hero" collection, inspired by The Legend of Zelda! I got this one from a swap I did with my awesome blogger friend, Kyoti from Kyoti's Nails! I wish I could own every single Lucky 13 Lacquer she has in her shop. :P

The shot above shows how clearly glitter PACKED this polish is! It's a clear base filled with purple square glitter, gold hex, light purple hex, and rainbow micro shimmer. This stuff is actually so jam packed you could wear it on it's own with a nice thick coat.

I decided it would be fun to incorporate another color from Zelda's dress in with this manicure, and the obvious choice was pink! I started one coat if OPI "Do You Think I'm Tex-y?" which is a berry colored jelly polish. Then I added one coat of "Zelda" and one more coat of DYTIT. The whole thing was finished with a coat of Poshe.

Personally, I really liked this effect. The shimmer totally adds a whole new level of dimension when layered like this. Although I can't wait to wear this again without a color on top, I can't help but picture other cool combinations of jelly sandwiches that this would look neat with. Maybe even with the polish I used yesterday, Essie "Marshmallow."

Lucky 13 Lacquer can be purchased on Kyoti's website or from her Etsy shop! Make sure to also check out her newest collection, which features polishes from the movie Nightmare Before Christmas!
