This is actually the candy cane water marble that Alexis did for my
12 days of Christmas nail art challenge. Isn't it phenomenal???

Tell me a little bit about yourself! Is this a question too? Lol I wasn't sure. If it is, My name's Alexis and I have an intense passion for all things beauty related. "Intense passion" kind of sounds funny but that's really the only way I can describe it! I'm working towards going to Cosmetology school to become a hair stylist right now. I'm also a music junkie and I love indie music (& some other genres!) like Bon Iver, First Aid Kit, MIKA, Peter and Kerry, and Passion Pit off the top of my head.

Where did you get the inspiration for your blog name? Myself! :) I actually have a really hard time coming up with names and things like that plus I knew I'd probably get sick of it soon after anyway. My solution was to just make it my name! Kind of silly but hey, it works! And, I'm not sick of it yet :P

How did you first get into blogging? I first got into blogging when I discovered the world of nail blogs. I had no idea people created blogs devoted to nails. It opened my eyes up to this amazing world and I knew right away I wanted to live in it.

How long have you been into nail polish and nail painting? While I've had my blog for almost a year (on Dec 28th!) I always liked beauty related things so nail polish was always something fun I'd do. However, I'd only ever paint my toes... don't ask why haha. My mom used to buy my sister and I those little Bon Bon mini polishes when we were younger and we loved them so that is probably what started my obsession with nail polish although it didn't become an obsession until about a year ago.

How many polishes do you have in your stash? Hmm, I wonder! Last time I counted I had about 200 but I know the number's most likely gone up drastically since then. I'm not one of those people who are scared to count how many they have... the more polish, the better!

What are your favorite base and top coats? This always changes for me. When I first started blogging all I heard about was Seche Vite, Seche Vite, Seche Vite. I bought myself a bottle and fell in love but because I paint my nails everyday (sometimes more, especially when swatching) I couldn't afford to pay $10.00 for 1 bottle so often. I really like Sally Hansen Insta-Dri and the MASH quick dry top coat at the moment! I'm ashamed to say I hardly ever use a base coat. I rarely leave my nails naked so I don't really worry about staining too much even though it is icky. I do have Gelous but I don't use it often. Whew, long answer for a simple question, huh?

What are some of your other hobbies or interests? I love music like I mentioned above. My sister plays the guitar so we love to learn new songs and play them (I sing). I also love all things beauty related so playing around with makeup and hair is always fun for me. I really love anything creative like taking pictures, drawing, and writing though!

What is your #1 polish lemming right now? That's a really tough question mostly because I don't think I really have a lemming O: I know, crazy. I bet if I thought about it for a while I could think of one but right now nothing's coming to mind. There's a ton polishes I want, but non I'd sell my soul for!

If you only had one polish on a desert island, what would it be? Oh man, another tough question. I think I'd have to say Priti NYC - Tulip Tree Teal which is actually one of my newer polishes I've gotten. Teal is by far my favorite color and TTT is the perfect shade of teal. It's a buttery 1 coat creme and I love it!

Do you prefer freehand art, taping, or stamping? Freehand, no doubt! I love stamping but I love the freedom and creativity you get while freehanding. There's so many different shades of it too, it can be as simple as a chic black line down the middle of a nude mani or an intricate pattern. Freehanding all the way!

What upcoming collection are you most excited for? LVX is one of my favorite brands EVER and I think most of my followers know that since I'm always talking about them or using their polishes. In fact, it was between Priti NYC - Tulip Tree Teal and LVX - Prussian for my desert island polish. Anyway, their new Resort 2013 collection is stunning and I know for a fact it'll be even more beautiful in person since that's always the case with them!

What is the best Christmas present you've ever received? Oh, this is a tricky one! I think I'd say my hamster Snowflakie my parents got my sister and I one year. We loved him/her (I think it was a her!) so much. I can't remember how old I was when we got her though, probably around 7 I'm thinking.

Gingerbread men or sugar cookies? Sugar cookies

Multicolored lights or all white? Uhhh, both? :D

What is your favorite holiday tradition? My mom buys us pajamas and gives them to us on Christmas Eve every year, that's definitely my favorite holiday tradition (besides opening presents on Christmas of course! And the food... hehe) ^.^

Woohoo! I hope you enjoyed reading and don't forget to go check out her fantastic work!
