Orly "Hot Tropics"

Hi all! So, I think I might start making Friday/Saturday fair game for #notd (nail of the day) posts. Sometimes by the end of the week I just want to pick a polish from my ever growing mountain of untrieds and give it a whirl. That's certainly what I did today!

"Hot Tropics" - This neon fuchsia-purple is filled with an abundance of shimmery gold micro flakes. Application was honestly the easiest and it practically applied itself. I only needed two coats for full coverage and added top coat because it dried to a slightly matte finish, like lot of neons do.

(Dat shimmer.)

Aside from the gorgeous color and super visible shimmer, this polish totally changes its shade depending on your lighting. In darker areas without direct lighting it definitely leans more purple. In bright light it turns hot pink. It's so much fun!

And because they're just too dang pretty, here's a shot of my nails next to the RAINBOW FLOWERS that my wonderful husband brought home for me for my birthday yesterday. :D :D :D In the right lighting they almost match the pink flowers in the bouquet!

This along with "Ablaze" were my two picks from this Orly collection (called the Baked collection). If you like purple, neon, and shimmer, you have to pick this one up!

    1. Me too! I'm so happy it didn't get hidden, like shimmer sometimes can.

  2. Seriously that looks so awesome. I have to agree with top coating this one. Neon looks way better glossy!

    1. Definitely! Unless it's one of those rad rubber finish polishes, but even then I usually reach for top coat out of instinct! XD
