Reverie Summer Collection

Hi all! Today I have a super exciting new collection to show you from Reverie Nail Lacquer! Now, Reverie might sound new but it is actually just the new name for the brand Two Gypsies Nail Lacquer! The word "reverie" means "a state of being pleasantly lost in one's thoughts" and I think it's an adorable name for this brand. I definitely got pleasantly lost while staring into a couple of these glitter-filled jelly polishes!

This summer collection consists of six polishes, two jellies, one creme with glitter, one creme with flakes, one holo, and one micro glitter bomb. These, along with one limited edition polish, will be available on June 25th at 10:00 AM EST.

"Summer Wine" - This red jelly base is filled with red, orange, yellow, gold, and blue/purple iridescent hexes. There's some matte, metallic, and holographic glitters in there as well as some pink satin dots. Coverage was alright, but because it's SO filled with glitter I did have some difficulty. I actually added some thinner that made things a bit easier. These photos show three coats with a fourth kind of dabbed on plus top coat.

Those transparent iridescent hexes are absolutely stunning! I love how they change the color of the glitters they're layered on top of!

"Andromeda" - This bright blue jelly base is filled with red, silver, and blue hexes, blue iridescent small bars, white dots, small and large white and pale blue bars, and some super fine orange shimmer. The formula was similar to "Summer Wine" in that it was so packed with glitter that it was difficult to apply, but I was able to make it cooperate. These photos show four coats plus top coat.

Just look that depth!

"Seascape" - This off-white creme base is filled with blue, aqua, and yellow hexes, teal and pale yellow dots, and lots of fine gold shimmer. Coverage was very thick and this one definitely needed thinner to be manageable. These photos show three coats plus top coat.

Doesn't this one totally remind you of shells and treasures buried in sand?

"Agave" - This gray-blue creme base is filled with tiny metallic copper and gold flakes. Coverage was pretty good and the slightly lumpy look seemed to dry down fine. These photos show three coats plus top coat. I do need to mention that I had a glob of bright blue in my bottle that looked like unmixed pigment, which unfortunately created a big streak on one finger. An additional coat of polish covered it up for these photos.

"Orchid" - This one is a pale pinky lilac holographic. The holographic shine was very pretty and delicate in the right lighting. I used four coats plus top coat for these photos as the coverage was on the thinner side. This one also seemed to dry very slow.

"Mermaid Scales" - This clear base is filled with green holographic micro glitter and just ever-so-slightly larger blue/purple iridescent micro glitter. I attempted to see what this would look like on its own and these photos show six coats plus top coat. As you can see, it still has some thin patches. I think this would work best as a topper over a darker blue or green polish, maybe even a black polish.

Overall I do really like the colors and glitter mixes, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't have any problems with these polishes. I had such a great experience with the previous two polishes I purchased from Reverie Nail Lacquer (Two Gypsies Nail Lacquer) so I'm really hoping that these issues were more to do with them being in mini bottles. (Oooh do I loath mini bottles lol.)The tiny brush on most mini bottles (in my experience) makes application much trickier than it would be with a full size brush. I was a touch disappointed that "Andromeda" didn't seem to have the same perfect blue jelly base that "Tide Pools" has. Anyway, despite these struggles I find myself liking this collection a lot.

These six polishes along with existing shades will be available from the Reverie Nail Lacquer Etsy shop. Make sure you head over to the Reverie Nail Lacquer Facebook page to see a sneak peek of the limited edition shade that will be launching with this summer collection!
