Since discovering that the method of using Elmer's glue as a peel-off base coat works FANTASTICALLY, I've kind of been going on a glitter kick. One that I immediately knew was on the top of my list was Rainbow Honey "Koi Pond" from her most recent collection.
Koi Pond has a clear base, so I started with two coats of Essence "Date in the Moonlight." This polish is a dark, almost slate blue with bright blue micro shimmer. (I need to try this one with a matte top coat!)
Then of course, I added one coat of Koi Pond on top! To be honest, it's a tad bit thick, but I was able to dab and place some of the larger pieces fairly easily.
Koi Pond is such an awesome mix of glitter colors and sizes. From what I can see, it contains:
-Small and large silver holographic hex
-Small and medium orange hex
-Small and medium light and
-Small and medium dark blue hex
-Small and medium green hex
-Small and medium black hex
I don't know about you, but I TOTALLY get the koi pond vibe from this. It's spot on with the inspiration!
Here's a shot of it out of focus so you can see how the holographic pieces really stand out and sparkle.
And lastly, here are a couple of pictures of how it looks in natural lighting. My only regret is I wish I had taken a few pictures of this in or underwater!
The verdict? Definitely one of my favorite glitters. I own several fishies myself, so anything fish or koi related is an insta-win for me. I just can't believe how spot on the color mix is in this!
As usual, thanks for reading!
